Trends for Summer 2024

Summer has been underway for a few weeks now, even though we haven’t felt much of it in terms of temperature. Nonetheless, I’d like to talk about the most prevalent trends. The spring collection naturally ties in with summer, but what I didn’t mention then, I’ll share now.

1. Metallic

I am personally a huge fan of metallic, especially in pants. These are gorgeous when paired with a simple T-shirt, top, or body. It gives your outfit an immediate futuristic and striking look.

2. High Waist Pants

I’m also not sad to see these make a comeback. They are comfortable and can hide areas we’re a bit more insecure about. They also elongate our figure, especially when we go for a ton sur ton look.

3. Minimalist Outfits

Completely understated yet chic. For some, this might seem like a boring or cold outfit, but worn the right way, you exude class. Think of a long, light coat over a suit pants with a shirt or blouse. Nothing too special, but still elegant.

4. Short Shorts

Quite different from being too small. These can also be very stylish when paired with long knee-high nylons and a cute pair of pumps.

5. The Polo

I immediately think of Ralph Lauren. In my mind, I create a look with a long oversized polo, an oversized blazer on top, and cute flip-flops underneath. And there you have it, sometimes it’s that simple. You could even add a short pair of shorts underneath.

6. Sculptural Volume

This has something of an art piece, leaning more towards high fashion than everyday wear. Think of balloon sleeves, for example.

7. Cut-Outs

And I don’t mean a rip in the pants, but rather an opening in the back, stomach, or a bare shoulder. Showing some skin is in.

8. Midi/Maxi Dresses

Long dresses are also completely back in style. With the right fabric, they can be surprisingly refreshing. Think of a lace dress, for example.

9. Accessories

For accessories, wicker handbags and silk scarves in your hair, around your neck, or on your wrist are all the rage.

Conclusion

I almost forgot the summer colors: yellow and, surprisingly, black. At a catwalk event, the presentation mentioned that this might be because the whole world is somewhat in mourning. But white is still there too, a sign of hope.

Until next time, stay stylish!
